IBM i Release Considerations |
IBM i 7.5
There are two known IBM i 7.5 changes that affect TAA Tools.
- There was a change in the spooled file for DSPEDTD that affects
CVTEDTD. Single quotes are now used to mark the beginning and end
of edit masks in 7.5. Refresh 73 has a fix for all supported IBM i
releases that addresses this issue.
- There was a change in one of the IFS APIs where path names are now
returned in CCSID 1200 (UTF-16BE). Refreshes up to and including
72 of the CVTIFSAUT2 and DSPIFSOWN tools were not sensitive to the
path name CCSID. Refresh 73 addresses this issue. CVTIFSOWN
currently returns the path name in the CCSID reported by the API.
If you update your systems to refresh 73 before migrating to IBM i 7.5
then you will avoid issues during migration.
IBM i 7.4
There are no known system changes that significantly affect TAA Tools.
There are no known restrictions on using the TAA Tools in 7.4 when
migrating from 7.3 or 7.2 if you update the tools to match your IBM i
release.
IBM i 7.3
There are no known system changes that significantly affect TAA Tools.
There are no known restrictions on using the TAA Tools in 7.3 when
migrating from 7.2 or 7.1 if you update the tools to match your IBM i
release.
IBM i 7.2
There was a slight change in the job log format that affects CVTJOBLOG
and the tools that depend on it.
There are no known restrictions on using the TAA Tools in 7.2 when
migrating from 7.1 if you update the tools to match your IBM i
release.
IBM i 7.1
The system added a DLTOBJ command in 7.1. The same command name has
been used in TAA for many years. The TAA DLTOBJ command was renamed to
DLTOBJ2 and will remain in the product. Most usage of this command
within TAA Tools is library qualified to the TAATOOL library. If you
are upgrading from 6.1 you may need to make changes to your programs
that use DLTOBJ.
Other than DLTOBJ there are no known restrictions on using the TAA
Tools in 7.1 when migrating from 6.1 if you update the tools to match
your IBM i release.
IBM i 6.1
There are no known system changes that significantly affect TAA Tools.
There are no known restrictions on using the TAA Tools in 6.1 when
migrating from V5R4 if you update the tools to match your IBM i
release.
