CHKSAVF         CHECK SAVE FILE                        TAASAWF

The Check Save  File command is designed  to allow you to  determine if
a  save file  is available  for  use.   For example,  if a  save  is is
occurring  to  the  save  file,  TAA9892  will  be  sent  as  an escape

A typical series of commands would be:

            CHKSAVF        SAVF(xxx)
            MONMSG         MSGID(TAA9892) EXEC(DO) /* Failed */
                           /*                                */
                           /*   Your processing if the save  */
                           /*     file cannot be opened      */
                           /*                                */
            ENDDO          /* Failed */

TAA9892 escape messages you can monitor for

      TAA9892    Save file cannot be opened

Escape messages from based on functions will be re-sent.

Command parameters                                    *CMD

   SAVF          The qualified  name of  the  save file.   The  library
                 value defaults  to *LIBL.   *CURLIB may also  be used.




The following TAA Tools must be on your system:

     CHKOBJ3         Check object 3
     EDTVAR          Edit variable
     RSNLSTMSG       Resend last message
     RTVSAVFD        Retrieve save file description
     SNDCOMPMSG      Send completion message
     SNDESCINF       Send escape information
     SNDESCMSG       Send escape message
