CHKCFGCHG CHECK CONFIGURATION CHANGES TAACFGB |
Configuration objects can be backed up by either the SAVSYS or SAVCFG
commands. In either case, the QSAVCFG data area in QSYS is updated
with the date of the last save.
The CHKCFGCHG command can assist you in determining if there have
been any changes since the last backup. The command is normally
entered without any parameters. It is entered as:
CHKCFGCHG
It will return a message for each configuration object that has
changed since the last time the configuration objects were saved.
The command is dependent upon the change date in the object
description of the configuration objects which is not accurate in all
cases. See the 'Restrictions' section.
Command parameters *CMD
------------------
DATE The date to check against. The default is *SAVCFG
which means the last time the SAVCFG or SAVSYS
commands were run.
TIME The time to check against. The default is 000000.
If DATE(*SAVCFG) is specified, this value is
ignored.
Prerequisites
-------------
The following TAA Tools must be on your system:
EDTVAR Edit variable
SNDCOMPMSG Send completion message
SNDSTSMSG Send status message
Restrictions
------------
The command is dependent upon the change date in the object
description of configuration objects. This is not set in all cases.
If the device is varied off when the change occurs, the change date
is set. If the device is not varied off, the change date is not
changed. Most changes can only occur when the device is varied off.
A few changes (such as the TEXT parameter) can be changed when the
device is varied on.
