CHKRMTJRN CHECK REMOTE JOURNAL TAAJROH

The Check Remote Journal command checks for an *ACTIVE journal state
of a remote journal. If the state is not *ACTIVE, different escape
messages are sent to describe the current state (TAA9895 = *INACTIVE,
TAA9896 = *FAILED, and *TAA9897  = *CTLINACT).  This provides  a simple
means of testing for the critical ongoing requirement that allows
remote journaling to be successful.

A typical command would be:

             CHKRMTJRN JRN(xxx)

A completion message is sent if the remote journal is in an active
state.

The Target Journal and RDB (Relational Data Base) parameters default
to allow the first remote journal attached to be checked. The
completion message describes what was checked.

CHKRMTJRN escape messages you can monitor for
---------------------------------------------

TAA9895 The remote journal is in an *INACTIVE state
TAA9896 The remote journal is in a *FAILED state
TAA9897 The remote journal is in a *CTLINACT state

For a complete understanding of the possible 'journal states', use
WRKJRNA, then F16, place the cursor on the 'journal state' and
request Help.

Escape messages from based on functions will be re-sent.

Command parameters *CMD
------------------

SRCJRN The qualified name of the source journal which has
the target journal to be checked. The library value
defaults to *LIBL. *CURLIB may also be used.

RDB The relational data base name that was specified on
the ADDRMTJRN command RDB parameter. The default is
*ALL meaning any name is valid.

TGTJRN The qualified name of the target journal to retrieve
information from. The default is *ALL which means
the first remote journal associated with the RDB
entry. If both RDB and TGTJRN are *ALL, the
information from the first or only remote journal
                 will be returned.

If *ALL is specified for the target journal, the
qualified library name must be blank.

If a specific target journal name is entered, a
qualified library library name must be entered or
                 *LIBL or *CURLIB.
