CAPNETA CAPTURE NETWORK ATTRIBUTES TAANETD

The Capture Network Attributes command captures the network
attributes and stores them in the NETWRKATTR data area in TAASECURE
or a named library. The companion command RTNNETA returns the
network attributes to their original settings. An option exists to
prevent changes if replacing network attributes on a different
 system.

Typical commands for the capturing and returning the attributes for
 the same system would be:

          CAPNETA

          RTNNETA

The intent of the command is to allow the current network attributes
to be backed up in a data area and restored when needed. This can be
helpful when distributing network attributes, using LPAR, or when a
 hot site is used.

 Security considerations
 -----------------------

The CAPNETA command can be used by the *PUBLIC user. It adopts the
authority of the Security Officer to be able to access the TAASECURE
 library.

The RTNNETA command can only be used by a user with *ALLOBJ special
 authority.

This approach allows for the CAPNETA command to be part of a daily or
periodic system backup run by an operator, but only a user with
special authority can restore the attributes.

 CAPNETA command *CMD
 ---------------

LIB The library to capture the network attributes in.
                  The default is TAASECURE.

A data area by the name of NETWRKATTR will be
created in a library (if TAASECURE is not named) and
the data area does not exist.

 RTNNETA command *CMD
 ---------------

LIB The library where the NETWRKATTR data exists. The
default is TAASECURE. The data area must have been
written to by the CAPNETA command.

CHGTYPE *ALL is the default to change all network
attributes. This would be the case if 1) You are
restoring the attributes to the same system (want to
refresh to a prior set of values) or 2) You are
restoring to a new set of hardware that will replace
                  the old set.

*ADDLSYS is intended for the case where you are
restoring an additional system that should look like
the system you captured the attributes from.
Because it is an additional system, the following
attributes are not restored" SYSNAME, LCLNETID,
                  LCLCPNAME, LCLLOCNAME, and NWSDOMAIN.

 Restrictions
 ------------

A user with *ALLOBJ special authority is required for RTNNETA.

 Prerequisites
 -------------

The following TAA Tools must be on your system:

            CHKALLOBJ Check all object authority
            SNDCOMPMSG Send completion message

 Implementation
 --------------

None, the tool is ready to use. The NETWRKATTR data area in
TAASECURE is created by the tool if it does not already exist.

 Objects used by the tool
 ------------------------

Object Type Attribute Src member Src file
    ------ ---- --------- ---------- ----------

    CAPNETA *CMD TAANETD QATTCMD
    RTNNETA *CMD TAANETD2 QATTCMD
    TAANETDC *PGM CLP TAANETDC QATTCL
    TAANETDC2 *PGM CLP TAANETDC2 QATTCL
    NETWRKATTR *DTAARA No source

The NETWRKATTR data area is the TAASECURE library.

 Structure
 ---------

 CAPNETA Cmd
    TAANETDC CL pgm

 RTNNETA Cmd
    TAANETDC2 CL pgm
